BCYA connects youth in Bor County and across the diaspora, and that openness attracts a few bad actors. This page explains the tricks they use, what BCYA will never ask you for, and exactly how to report someone.
Warning signs to watch for
Urgent money requests
Anyone rushing you to send funds today, off-platform, or to a personal mobile-money number is almost always a scam. Real BCYA campaigns are listed on the Donate portal.
Fake job or scholarship fees
Legitimate jobs, grants and scholarships posted on BCYA never ask for an application fee, processing fee, or your bank PIN.
Cloned member profiles
Check the profile age, payam chapter and mutual connections. Scammers copy a real member's photo and name, then message their friends asking for help.
Links and codes
Never share a verification code sent to your phone or email — not even with someone claiming to be a BCYA admin. We will never ask for it.
What BCYA will never do

- • Request donations to a personal account instead of a listed campaign.
- • Charge you to apply for a job, grant or training listed on the board.
- • Threaten to delete your membership unless you pay immediately.
How to report a suspicious account

- 3Submit the details through Report a problem in the Help and support menu.
- 4Block the account and warn your payam chapter group so others stay safe.
